GotCotton was founded with one main goal: To create a website that would allow bales of cotton to be marketed to a larger number of buyers on an easy to use online system at a reasonable cost. Building off of our core goal, we aim to create advantages without disadvantages to both the buyers and the sellers. It is not our goal to change the cotton industry, but instead, utilize the existing tools and procedures to allow more options for the buyers and sellers in the cotton industry.

Companies of the cotton industry have benefited from the technological advancements including the use of electronic HVI data and electronic bale receipts. Completing the transactions of buying and selling bales of cotton is easier than ever before, thanks to the electronic receipts, wire transfers, and electronic drafts used by banks. The need for buyers and sellers to be in close proximity to one another is no longer a factor to completing a transaction. Because of this, GotCotton will help market cotton to a wide range of buyers outside the normal boundaries that many sellers have today.

The evolution of GotCotton will depend mainly on the users of the website. Since we only collect a commission if a transaction occurs, we promise to listen and act on the suggestions from those who use the site.
